Wondering What Makes A Good Reel? Read This!
Have you ever wondered what makes a good Reel?
Maybe you’re waiting to post until you have the perfect idea. Maybe you've started experimenting with Reels and sometimes you have one that has tons of likes, shares, and comments… and then the next one you publish is a complete flop.
Well, we’ve been there, too. The good news, though, is that since Instagram released the Reels feature, our team has continually published a minimum of 3 Reels PER WEEK to gauge what people respond to, share, and (hopefully) laugh at.
So today, we’re going to show you 3 of Jasmine’s Reels that have performed really well, so you can take elements from them and see if they work well for you, too! Let’s do this.
Tip #1: Experiment with Engaging, Creative Transitions
This Reel performed really well (currently with over 1 million views) because it has really engaging, creative transitions. It takes a little practice to get right, but transitions keep people glued to your content as you transition from one piece of information to the next. It takes added effort, but don’t let that dissuade you. You’re the type of person who goes the extra mile, and it shows!
Tip #2: Use A Trending Song
We think this Reel was a hit (also with over 1 million views) partially because the content was educational in nature, but also because we used a trending song. Trending songs allow others to come across your content when they are looking at Reels who have used that same audio. It’s one way to work smarter, not harder. To find them, as you create a Reel, simply click on the audio icon, then “see more” next to trending songs. Not every account has access to this yet, but be patient. Good things take time!
Tip #3: Be Inspirational
Finally, this Reel also has over 1 million views and counting because it’s short and inspirational, making it extremely easy for followers to share with their audience, too. We highly recommend making an inspirational Reel because this is your opportunity to spread the love and encourage your audience. For example, you could tell a funny joke to lift their mood, explain how you get through a bad day, or share your favorite pump-up playlist to start the morning!
There you have it: 3 elements that make a good Reel, as told by our personal experience!
We do want to remind you that the ONLY reason why we could tell you what worked for our audience is because Jasmine had tested HUNDREDS of different Reels over the past year to see what worked... and what didn’t.
There are PLENTY of Reels that were total flops, and guess what? We STILL put Reels out because it’s the only way we learn what is working
>>The only way for you to find out what is successful is if you keep testing to see what works.<<
