How to Test, Track, and Analyze Your Social Media Content

Do you feel confident when you post?

In other words, do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that each piece of content you create will resonate deeply with your audience... or do you find yourself posting and praying it doesn’t fall on deaf ears?

Well, friend, here’s the good news: there is a science to ensuring the content you create will resonate with your audience.

Let us bust a few myths for you:

1. The algorithm does not play “favorites”

2. Shadow banning does not exist

3. A post that tanks isn’t “personal”

>>The truth is that YOU are in control of how your content performs.<<

So, if you’re ready to take control of your social media content and make sure that every post, Reel, Live video, or Story speaks directly to your dream customer, you need to test, track, and analyze your content. Here's how!

How to Test Your Content

The best way to find out what resonates with your audience is to test different aspects of your content and see what resonates most (by what gets the most views, likes, comments, shares, and saves).

Our recommendation is to test one thing at a time so you get clear data.

For example, if you want to figure out what day of the week gets the most engagement from your audience, don’t post 5 days in a row at different times… post 5 days in a row at the same time to get accurate results.

Once you have decided an element of your content you’d like to test, commit to it for at least one week (but preferably longer, such as a few weeks or a month). Then, start posting… and get tracking!

How to Track Your Content

You can use a spreadsheet to track analytics, such as date or time posted, hashtags, caption length, likes, comments, etc.

Once you have documented how each piece of content performs in a 48-hour period, it’s time to analyze the data!

How to Analyze Your Content

In this step, set some time aside to study the spreadsheet you created for any trends.

  • Do posts at 8am tend to perform better than 8pm?

  • Are your Reels with voiceovers trending better or worse compared to ones with music?

  • What length of caption is getting the most comments?

Once you recognize the trends, use the information to determine what you should be testing next.

>>We have FUN news for you: you will ALWAYS be testing, tracking, analyzing, and iterating based on the data.<<

And the best part? This data is what will lead to you having confidence in every single post!

So get testing, tracking, and analyzing… and we can’t WAIT to see how you adjust your social media marketing efforts accordingly!
