5 Steps to Host a Free Challenge to Market Your Business
There are two types of business owners:
One who is stuck in the ‘way they do things’ when it comes to their marketing, and
One who’s tired of doing the ‘same old, same old’ to market their business, and is ready to try something new.
If you’re the first type of business owner, you might as well just exit out of this blog post right now.
There’s nothing we could say to you to make you try something new, so you might as well not waste your time learning about new marketing tactics you’ll never implement!
However, if you’re the second type of business owner–one who is hungry for trying something new, isn’t afraid to get scrappy, and wants to experiment and (possibly) get a little uncomfortable as you take your business to the next level…
If that’s you, keep reading!
Today, we’re going to give you a 5-step framework for how to revolutionize your approach to marketing your business by hosting a free challenge for your audience to participate in.
>>Challenges are fun, engaging, and unique to many industries, which is why we’re SO excited to share how you can use this awesome method to promote your product or service!<<
Before we get into the 5-step framework, let’s make sure we’re on the same page. A challenge is:
When you unite your audience for a common purpose to temporarily solve your Ideal Client’s problem by taking ACTION, then you
Present your product or service as the long-lasting solution at the end.
In other words, challenges are typically based on solving a problem your Ideal Client has, where you provide them with the solution for free… then invite them to continue receiving that solution by making an investment.
Now let’s talk about the 5 steps you can take to host your own challenge to promote your business!
1. Problem
Identify the problem your Ideal Client struggles with that your challenge will help solve.
Example for a Nutritionist: Creating healthy meals for themselves and their family during the busy work week
Example for Social Curator: Planning posts for social media
2. Solution
How will you solve that problem for your Ideal Client with your challenge?
Example for a Nutritionist: A 7 day clean-eating challenge where you provide a meal plan with live Q+As each day as you cook each meal
Example for Social Curator: A 5 day Instagram challenge where followers receive 5 social media caption templates and a micro-course to help keep them on track every day
3. Promise
What will they accomplish in your challenge?
Example for a Nutritionist: They’ll learn 7 days’ worth of healthy meals to make for themselves and their family
Example for Social Curator: They’ll get more followers and more sales by posting consistently for 5 days
4. Time frame
How long is your challenge?
Example for a Nutritionist: 7 Days
Example for Social Curator: 5 Days
5. Action
What do you want them to do at the end of the challenge? AKA - what is the offer you’re promoting?
Example for a Nutritionist: Sign up for their Nutritious Meals Package to receive 7 days worth of meals every single week
Example for Social Curator: Join Social Curator for caption templates and an app to schedule their posts every single month at socialcurator.com/join
