4 Ways to Overcome Social Media Stage Fright
If you’re not used to getting on camera and showing up for your audience on social media, it can feel more than intimidating. But it doesn’t have to!
It’s no secret that video content is the key to boosting your engagement on social media. We’re here to teach you our best tips for using video to grow your business... and how to have fun while doing it!
Yes, it IS possible.
Here are 4 ways for you to kick your nerves to the curb and start showing up for your audience in an authentic, personal way:
1. Start small.
Try to first tackle a few 15-second video clips that you can add to your Instagram story instead of jumping into recording a 30-minute Instagram Live. As your confidence grows, increase your video content accordingly!
Idea #1 for an Instagram Story: Shoot a 10-second IG Story showing your desk (viewers love seeing how you work!)
Idea #2 for an Instagram Story: Shoot a Story of your breakfast or lunch and add text on the Story to include the recipe/ingredients
2. Plan your content.
One day, you might be able to speak off the cuff on social media, but while you’re just starting out, plan out your video content and take notes that you can refer to while filming.
We suggest writing notes on a Post-It Note and adhering it to the top of your phone so it’s right in front of you as a visual reminder of what to say!
3. Upload often.
The more you practice, the more comfortable you’re going to become. Commit to filming at least one video per week to help build your confidence in front of the camera.
We suggest adding to your calendar and itemizing a specific time slot in your day as a reminder to create and post it!
4. Be yourself.
Don’t chase the latest Instagram trends only to lose yourself in the process. The world needs what YOU have to offer.
Connecting with your audience in a personal way via video is one of the best things you can do to increase your engagement and boost sales on social media.
So, what’re you waiting for?! It’s time to pull out your camera and start showing up authentically for your Ideal Client! Kick your social media anxiety to the curb and commit to showing up on social media at least three times this week.
